- [Instructor] Networks, indeed cloud networks, need to be monitored and maintained. As we discussed earlier in this course, usually the last step in setting up a VPC, VPN, or other network domain is establishing monitoring. So what is that? Simply put, it's the ability to watch something work over a long period of time, in this case, the network. So what do you monitor? There are several techniques to consider here. Let's talk about the five most important. Packet analysis is the ability to analyze the network packets and keep an eye on them and troubleshoot any problems that may emerge, such as performance issues. Packets are like blood throwing through the cloud networks. Much like our blood, its contents and behavior indicate health. Traffic flow analysis, or the monitoring and analysis of network traffic, including flow. The idea is to identify potential bottlenecks occurring or beginning to form.
