- Yet another innovation announced by AWS at last years Reinvent was a new NoSQL database to further augment IOT and other event scenarios. As of this recording this product is not yet publicly available. It's in a private beta, but I wanted to include it because it is interesting. I am on that private beta and by the time you see this, this may be publicly available. So the idea is to store time-based events with NoSQL, which is a very typical scenario for IOT. So time-based event data bases, \such as the newly announced AWS TimeStream. The data will be stored and query able via time windows. Now this is a capability that we've had in relational databases via windowing functions for quite a while. So you might wonder what is the purpose of this?
