- [Presenter] By default, the ability for IAM users to view billing information is disabled. Let's get into the AWS console and change that now. Here I am logged into the AWS console with my root credentials, not intended to be used for day-to-day administration. The root credentials are required to enable the ability for IAM users to access the financial management tools. To enable IAM billing access. I click on the account name in the upper-right corner, then choose account from the dropdown menu. This brings me to the billing and cost management account dashboard. Here, you can update a variety of account settings, including the root account password, contact information, and supplemental contact information. The alternate contact section is particularly useful for enterprises as you can separate out billing, operations, and security points of contact.
