- [Presenter] The purpose of cloud is to provide technology as a service within a well-defined cloud architecture, as shown. Here we can see the main components of the cloud ecosystem and its architecture, the cloud consumer or customer, the cloud provider, which operates the data centers from which the cloud hardware operates, the cloud broker enabling multiple cloud providers to be used to deliver a service, and the cloud auditor, able to provide assurance of the security, privacy, and performance of the cloud. Underlying all of this is the cloud carrier. That is, the telecommunications operator providing the communication links which connect the customers to the cloud data center. The initial concept for cloud as shown in the architecture has three service layers. At the bottom layer, infrastructure as a service or IaaS.
