Create dynamic reference lines using parameters
- [Instructor] Reference lines are secondary calculations and lines that you can draw on a vis after it's been created. Now, one of the things that's quite good about a reference line is that you can set it on an axis as a kind of guide or a measure so you can see how well are we doing? Have we hit a certain value or we hit a certain target? So it's quite good for monitoring sort of progress or targets towards a goal. And we can add a constant reference line from the analytics pane, so if I click on the analytics tab, we have a constant line, which is a constant reference line. If I drag it into my view, I can add it to the table, and it'll ask me for the value that I want to set it to. So say if I set it to 120,000, it draws a reference line for me there, but that reference line is static. It's never going to move. It's never going to change. It's a fixed point.
