How to clean Excel data with the Data Interpreter

- [Instructor] Tableau always works best with a nice, clean table of data, but unfortunately, that's not always what we get. In this video, we're going to look at how we can use the built-in Data Interpreter to clean up an Excel file. So to see it in action, let's first connect to this new file. So I'm going to Connect to Data, and this is an Excel file. And I'm going to navigate to my Data sources folder, and the file I'm interested in is called GlobalVehicleSales. Now, when I open this up, Tableau's identified that there's only one single sheet within this Excel table, so it's assumed that's the one that we want and has already put that in for us. We can see our PC Sales table has been used, and in the bottom, I can see all of the rows and columns that Tableau has discovered within this sheet. But when we look, we can see that the column headings don't make sense. We have F1, F2. There's this one over here that says New Pc registrations, and there's lots of nulls all over the place.…
