Achieving performance efficiency at AWS
- [Instructor] Amazon recommends that we focus on the following areas to achieve the performance efficiency that we're after. First of all, we have to make up the right selections of the components that make up our application stack. Then we have to review what we're doing, because cloud technologies change every six months, every three months, maybe weekly. So what is great today could be greater tomorrow. An example of this, you used to have an EBS drive, a volume that could be attached to a single instance. Well, some of the newer volumes are much, much faster and could be attached up to 16 instances, as long as the instances are hosted on the Nitro hypervisor. Well, that's a little bit of technical information that just might not have shown up in your review of what Amazon is doing. But these sorts of changes happen all the time. Once I make a change to my design, I then have to monitor it. Of course, I have to be monitoring anyways, but if I make a change, I'd better monitor…
