- [Instructor] Okay, now that we've seen what kind of activities are available to us for Excel automation, let's take a look at two of the most popular and powerful activities, read range and write range. To demo this, I've created a simple Excel file that I'll attach as a resource in this lecture. You can see it has a header row, and the columns are first name, last name, email address, city, state, age, gender, and promo. And you might already see where I'm going with this because this is the same kind of data we used in the web automation section. The read range activity will allow us to point at this Excel file and with one single activity we can read all of this data into a data table variable. And again, I'll remind you that the Excel-based activities require Excel to be installed, but the workbook activities can function without Excel being installed. Let's go take a look.
