- Just like with other operating systems, macOS comes with an entire suite full of core tools as well. And I brought my friend Michael Smeyer, the Mac Maniac in to give us the lowdown on some macOS core tools. - [Michael] So let's get right into it. We're going to talk about System Preferences here. And the way you accesses it is from the menu bar right here in the Apple menu, system Preferences. And here we go. It's a single window, kind of looks like the old control panel from Windows. First thing is you kind of want to know is some terminology. Every one of these little items in here is called a settings pane. So when I click on one, it opens up a settings pane. So in here is the General Settings pane. You can see stuff where I can change, you know general settings about my system. For instance light mode, dark mode, colors, things like that.
