- [Narrator] Networking is about sharing resources. For example, a broadband modem is a resource. Rather than just have one computer use it, the modem is shared by any device connected to the local network. Other network resources include printers and scanners, mass storage, media servers, and so on. You can access and use these resources providing you know how to find them in Windows. The first place to look to get an overview of network resources is the network window. Press the Windows + E keyboard shortcut to summon a File Explorer window, and choose Network from the navigation pane. This window populates with available network resources providing Network Discovery is on. If it's deactivated, you see a prompt to activate it. Do so.
