- [Instructor] Suppose we wanted to add reinforcing bars going each way in an entire slab. We do that by adding area reinforcing. The objective of this video is to add an entire area of reinforcing. To do that, let's jump into Revitt. Under models, let's go to open. Browse where you're keeping your exercise files. I'll go to chapter 6, 06 06 area, and click open. Under structural plans in the project browser, let's go down to level one. Click the structure tab. On the reinforcement panel, click area. Zoom in and find the perimeter of your first floor slab and click it. First let's look at our settings. The layout rule wants to be maximum spacing. We don't need any additional top or bottom cover. Usually when I put it in, I'll determine if it's too high or too low, but generally we can use the cover settings that are in our concrete slab. Let's go down to graphics.
