- Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you'll land amongst the stars. These were the words of a poster on the wall of my fifth grade classroom. I remember reading it each day and thinking, "If I miss, I will have failed. "And who will care at that point where I land?" Call it naïveté, perhaps realism. But either way, my mentality around failure was influencing my perception of success. In this video, I'm going to walk you through how the expectations of your organization's culture may or may not be supporting the cultivation of safe space. If perception creates reality, then what your organization's culture is perceived to value often acts as the perception driver. If people think you have a cutthroat environment where people step on one another to get to the top, then in time, you are likely to see people adjust how they enter the team environment in hopes to succeed.
