The right question is half the solution

- [Narrator] There's a saying, asking the right question is halfway to solving the problem. A lot of people take that to mean and they should come up with some clever quip, but really, it means you need to spend time working the problem, exploring questions you might ask, varying those questions a lot, and sometimes you find ones that help you see better. I know some people may not be fans, but there's a fellow with a phrase that we can learn from. Over and over TV host, Dr. Phil, asks, "How's that working for you?" But it's not the first thing he asks. He asks people about a situation, a scenario, their choices. He listens, he prompts, he probes. And only when he sees a dysfunction in an answer, does he break out that catch phrase, "How's that working for you?" You won't always find a question like that. Sometimes you may find more than one.
