Physical office security best practices
- There are several physical security best practices that you can use to protect sensitive information. Best practice number one. Consider that people might be trying to obtain your company's information by stealing pay documents, mobile devices, laptops, or other computing devices. Take steps to protect these accordingly. For example, don't leave valuable items unattended. Keep your purse, wallet, backpack, briefcase and electronic devices with you or in a locked cabinet. Take your laptop and your mobile device home with you after work every day. Consider using a cable lock for your laptop. When you print a document, make sure to pick it up from the printer and take it with you. If the document contains confidential information, store it in a locked cabinet.
