- There are a number of cloud service providers to choose from. But what factors should you keep in mind in order to keep your information safe? Having a checklist of items to keep in mind will help you better evaluate whether or not this cloud service provider is a good fit for you. Let's first talk about what a cloud service provider is. A cloud service provider is going to be any third party provider that will offer you their cloud-based services. A simple example will be something we use every day, our phones. If you're an iPhone user, you may be saving your photo, your contact information, and your videos in the cloud. That's an example of a third party, Apple providing you with a cloud-based service. Or, for example, say you're looking for some cloud-based infrastructure services for your host in application.
