- [Instructor] Now that we've talked about operating systems and risk-based fundamentals, let's talk about the fundamentals of web applications and networks. Having been a software tester for many years, I'm very familiar with developers telling me that the system works as designed. With a software testing hat on, you might let that slide. But as a pen tester, where there smoke, there's fire. Developers create systems based off of a set of specific use cases. But your success as a pen tester will largely depend on using the system in ways that it was not designed. That, I wonder what would happen if I, type of mentality has led to many instances of things such as indirect object references or being able to access something that wasn't correctly implemented.
