Tip: Never blindside your executive

Tip: Never blindside your executive

- We've been speaking about decision making, and I want to highlight a misconception with you and share a tip with you. The tip is never blindside your executive. It is your responsibility and role to keep your executive informed of all key information. Whether the information is good or bad, your executive will want to be aware of what is brewing and get ahead of any potential implications. Despite wherever the executive falls on the decision making continuum, it is critical to ensure that the executive has all relevant information. Withholding information is not a strategy for you to use if you consider your executive to be a non-inclusive decision maker. By being quick to inform your executive of this type of news, you'll also be creating a culture of transparency and trust. It's a win-win for everyone.
