Ideation: Design and emotion

Through this process you're going to be generating a lot of ideas and not always in a more structured way like you would do with random entry, but things are just going to come to you when you're out and about or standing in the shower. There's all different kinds of ways that ideas are going to pop into your head. So when you're going through this process, and this is generally the way I personally move through the world as a designer, is I always have something to capture an idea with me. I usually have my iPhone on me, so a picture or a quick voice note or whatever is a good way to capture that. But what I like to do is keep a sketchbook handy in all the places that I'm usually at, like my desk, my bedroom, and even going so far as to keep post-it notes sitting around as well. So that's a big thing that I keep on my desk, not just a sketchbook, but a stack of post-it notes.
