Setting up the document in Illustrator

- [Narrator] This project is a public information poster about malaria, and I'll be creating this in Illustrator, and then outputting to a print-ready PDF, and that's what we see here. Now I'm using Illustrator, I'll also be using Photoshop to add the texture. My first step, File and New, and I'm using A3 size. If you want to use a US paper size, the equivalent would be Tabloid. I have millimeters as my unit of measurement, if you're using anything other than millimeters, you can still express your values as millimeters, just make sure you type mm after them, and then they will be converted to inches, or picas, or points, whatever measurement system you're in. So I have a portrait orientation, and I also have a 3-millimeter bleed on all four sides. There's my document with the bleed guide, I'll turn on my rulers, command- or control-R. Now I want to create a grid, which will help me in the placement of the different elements on my page. And to do this, I'm going to use my rectangle…
