Problem-solving as a way of life

So you know what goals are and you've got goals. How do you reach your goals? What do you anticipate happening on your journey to meeting your goal? Right? You expect problems. And so in order to get past those problems, you need to know how to solve them. Well, we're going to talk about today, which you're going to learn is how you can solve those problems in different ways. Problem solving is a way of life, because ultimately, every day we face an innumerable amount of problems and they show up in many different forms. So really, problem solving is about creating an approach to how you tackle the challenges of your day and how to get from where you are to where you want to be. So I remember asking my brother why he became a math teacher, right? And his answer to me was because it teaches you how to solve problems. And I told him I hated geometry and I didn't want to solve any problems that way. He said, Well, it's not about geometry. It's about how you learn to look at the world. Math presents you opportunities to see challenges in different perspectives and find ways to solve them. And ultimately, even though I'm not a mathematician, I still something that I enjoy helping my clients with. I'm really excited that you're going to be coming along on this journey, learning more about problem solving. We're going to talk about perspective. We're going to talk about confidence. We're going to talk about creativity. Ultimately, this course, I hope, can be really beneficial for you. Hi, my name is Sterling De Sutter Summerville. I'm a diversity, equity and inclusion strategist as well as an executive coach. I'm really excited to be working with you today and to talk to you about problem solving. I'm really passionate about problem solving because I like to help people get to where they want to go. Our journeys are all different, but there's one thing that we have in common that along the way we're going to face problems.
