How to use 2D and 3D map views
- [Instructor] In this project we have two main data views. One is 2D overhead and one is 3D, which we can orient to get more oblique views. Previously we renamed the 2D data tab. Now using my scroll mouse, I can zoom in and out. I can also hold down the scroll mouse to pan around the map just like you can in ArcGIS Pro. And I've also showed you previously how to change the base map so we can get lots of different views in our 2D map view. Now when you click the 3D map tab here, you have the same kind of overhead view, but notice in the lower left here, we have a different navigation system. It may be expanded like this or contracted in smaller like this. Here I will expand it and let's talk about it. Now, right now, by default, your normal scroll mouse works the same way and I can even hold it down to get an oblique angle. You can see our flight line is above the surface here. Now in the 3D navigation tools, essentially there are two rings, an outer ring here and an inner ring here…
