- [Instructor] Building blocks are packages of modular functionality with a published interface that conforms to a standard. Building blocks can be used on their own or as part of a sub-assembly. Building blocks typically evolve to exploit new technology as it becomes available. You can really create some very complex design with a series of simple building blocks. One type of building block is an architecture building block. Architecture building blocks, or ABBs, define functionality that will be implemented. They capture business, data, application, and technology domain requirements. They direct and guide the development of solution building blocks or SBBs.
