Enter dates and date series efficiently
- [Instructor] Anytime you're putting in date-based data in Excel, there are lots of shortcuts that you can rely upon. In column A, I've put in J-a-n, the abbreviation for January. I want the other months below it. I'll point to the lower right hand corner, hold down the left mouse button, and just drag this down here. If I drag it farther than a year, it just starts all over again. Anytime you make a three letter month entry, like this, you can get the next month, next month, next month by dragging rightward or downward. Typically we start with January, but you can start with any month. And in certain situations, you might even drag upward, if it goes backward in time. Same thing happens when you're dragging leftwards. So those are all fast and easy to use. If you're using full spellings, same idea. And this example, these are uppercase. Therefore, if I drag downward, I'll get full spellings. They'll be all…
