Split column data using Text to Columns and Flash Fill

- [Instructor] When you work with lists in Excel sometimes you recognize that there's too much data within a cell in certain columns. Now there's nothing truly wrong with the data in column A, but we can't sort that list by last name. So ideally what we will do here is either split the names into two columns or reverse the order. And both of these, we hope to be able to achieve without retyping, and we can. And one approach is to use a feature found on the data tab, up in the ribbon off to the right. It's called Text to Columns. Split a single column of text into multiple columns. And it does mention separating a column of full names into separate columns. So, text to columns. The key word here is delimited, then next. And you might have leftover choices here from a previous use. It's not going to be comma here, but it's space that separates those names.
