- [Instructor] Here we have a list of categories and item numbers. We need to create a product ID, but check out the format we need. We need a two letter category, a hyphen, and then four digits as shown in column G with the desired format. You ready for it? You ready to put these together? If so, pause the video, pull up the exercise file, work it out, come back and I'll show you a solution. All right you're back. Let's see how to do this. First of all, all right so, check out sale C7 as just a 90, we need two zeros in front of that, so we need to get some leading zeros in here. This is how we do it. I'm going to highlight this range. In the Home tab I'm going to Numbers, Number Formats. Go down to Custom. And here's the trick, we need four zeros right here. One, two, three, four. Okay, ha, there are our leading zeros. Now let's use Flash Fill to put all this stuff together. J, M, hyphen, seven, three, one…
