What is Figma?
- I wanted to start this course by answering what Figma is and what Figma does. Figma calls itself a collaborative interface design tool. Now what does that mean? It just means that people are using it for things like website design, app design, or even creating presentations with it, just about any type of design you can think of, and you can prototype and share what you design. Let's look at a generic design workflow for a simple app and see how Figma fits in. Now, UI or user interface, design is all about crafting what people see, and it's how users interact with that technology. It's the interface responsible for presenting info and allowing users to control its functions intuitively. That doesn't just mean we're designing pretty buttons. We're also diving into the customer's needs, what their pain points are. We're figuring out who they are. We're doing a lot of different types of research to discover that.
