- For step two in the mesh exercise we're going to talk about leveraging the power of groups. I want you to search for three to five groups on LinkedIn that you want to join and follow. Here's how you do it. Search on LinkedIn under groups and companies by topic area, vertical, disciple, geography, company, technology. Similar to the criteria that we use for connecting with individuals. Look at the topics being discussed to see how closely they align with your own voice triggers. And then see how many members each group has, this is critical. A small number means fewer opportunities to grow your network. You want to join large groups that have lots of activity. See who's in the group. Hopefully there are several famous or well regarded thought leaders. Maybe writers, speakers, or even successful business people who are members of the group.
