Coordinating conjunctions and "der-" words

In this lesson we're going to learn an important set of conjunctions that allow us to string together entire sentences. Instead of talking in clipped words and phrases, we'll be able to express ourselves in longer passages, which is actually what native speakers do. In other words, today we're going make the linguistic quantum leap from something like this: Ich reise nach Deutschland. Ich besuche Freunde in Frankfurt. Meine Eltern kommen aus Deutschland. Ich spreche kein Deutsch. Ich spreche nur ein bisschen Spanisch. Ich lerne Deutsch. Es macht Spaß. To more fluid and native-like utterances like this: Ich reise nach Deutschland, denn ich besuche Freunde in Frankfurt.
