- [Instructor] Unlike a file, you don't just delete a program you no longer need or use. To remove a program, you must follow the proper procedures. Removing an unused program recovers storage space, and it might even improve system performance if the program tends to consume valuable resources. To evict a program from Windows, open the Settings app, press the Windows and I keyboard shortcut. Choose Apps and Installed apps. This list is populated with all the software installed on the system. You can use the sort button to arrange the list by name or file size. By the way, choosing size is one way to remove large programs you no longer use anymore. Removing a large program does free up some storage space. Select the program you want to remove, such as this one. Click the three dots for the overflow menu. Choose Uninstall, and then Uninstall to confirm.
