- We've talked about a number of different styles of websites in this course, and common goals for each. While the content of a website will always be the primary driver of the design, different styles of sites naturally lend themself to different types of layouts. Let's have a look at a few of these and how they display at different screen sizes and orientations. Here's an informational style site. Its purpose is to provide information about the company and their products. Most of the content of this site is text, which could be quite boring on its own. Instead, the site uses what we call hero images, large feature images at the top of each page followed by text that's broken up into smaller sections with headings. This layout choice makes the site more aesthetically pleasing and also makes all that text easier to read and digest. Portfolio sites, on the other hand, tend to be image heavy.
