- No, one syllable, two letters, yet so difficult to say. But when you say it, so much can open up for you professionally and personally. Before I give you some clear and kind ways to say no, I want you to remember why you're saying it in the first place. Is it because you've got your eye on a promotion, or maybe you're hoping to save some money for a new apartment, or you simply want the afternoons off to recharge? Whatever the reason, you have to believe in it, then it will make clearing things off your calendar and turning invitations down a lot easier. Here are three ways to say no. One, be plain. Simply decline, no explanation needed, and I'll add, make it quick.
