- [Tony] This chapter is all about gradients in Illustrator, and gradients are a great way to add visual interest to your artwork and also to make it look less flat. Just before we get there though, we are just going to jump ahead just a fraction and take a look at the Layers panel here. Now, there is a movie all about layers coming up later on in the course, but for now, the only thing I need you to do is to go ahead and make Active the linear layer. Okay, so you'll see that's the second one up from the bottom just there. That is all you need to do right now. You don't need to worry about anything else just at the moment, okay? And then we can come along and click on one of these rectangles here. And I'm actually going to zoom in on that. I'm going to use the keyboard here. Command + Control + just to zoom in a ways like so. And then maybe zoom out just a little bit just there. And I think I'll also move the context…
