- Innovation doesn't come from a lone idea. It often emerges when multiple perspectives collide to create what no single mind could achieve alone, and lean thinking can help you harness the collaboration needed to achieve groundbreaking ideas. I experienced this in one of the companies I worked for, which had what we called intermittent success. We'd all sit around waiting for our engineering manager, who I'll call Chris, to reveal the next brilliant vision, while the rest of us were essentially there to nod and figure out how to implement his ideas.
