- I might be dating myself here but remember these Choose Your Own Adventure books? Basically at the end of a chapter you can select your next step based on what you thought was best. In the end, each choice is a smart or not so smart move, but it didn't really matter because you have control over your adventure, and that's what it is, yours. That ownership over creating the future, gave you more stake in your choices and overall experience. The first pillar of ILD, making the learning personal, draws on the same concept. Personalized learning occurs when a learner can choose the learning experience that best meets their preferences. As I go through some ways to make learning personal, ask yourself, what are you already doing? What would be easy to implement?
