- Ola, it's Anne-Marie from InDesign tips for design geeks. Today, I'm going to talk about something really exciting, word counts. Hey, sometimes you need to know what's the word count for your publication? Somebody, you know, editor saying what was the word count in that article from last issue? Because I got to tell the new author what to write toward or what's the word count in total because somebody's charging you by the word and so on. So I'll show you a few different ways that you can get a word count out of your InDesign files. There's no command called, word count, which would be nice, but there are some secret places where word count is being calculated. One of them is the info panel. So go to the window menu, go down to info. And if you click inside a frame, like I'm clicking inside here, as you can see, okay. It tells you, I don't know if you can see that.
