- (Anne-Marie) Hey there, it's Anne-Marie from InDesign Tips for Design Geeks. Today I want to show you a cool little layers trick that I figured out with some help from some friends to aid a client. This client had said, we want the same layer structure for all of our documents. The same number of layers, same colors, at least for new documents. But the problem that they ran up against is that you know how you can set different defaults for the application by opening up InDesign with no documents open and then adding or removing swatches? Like for me, I just dragged registration to the bottom. And any changes that you make here go into effect for all new documents created from then on. You can also create like your house paragraph styles and character styles and so on. But check out layers. You cannot add or name layers here as part of a default. So she said, how can we do this?
