Publish and download a Google Doc

A document can be made public by publishing it to the web. Select file and then publish to the web to choose your options for making the document public. Documents can be published as a link or embedded in a web page. You can choose whether your colleagues must be signed in to their Google workspace account to view the document or whether it can be viewed anonymously. You can also choose whether you want the document to be republished automatically after a content change. Google Docs documents can be downloaded to your computer for editing in other apps or for sharing with people. Select file, hover over download and choose a format to download the document. The supported formats include Microsoft Word, Open Document, Rich text and PDF. These formats may not be viewable or editable on your device, and downloaded files are no longer subject to the permissions for viewing and editing that were set in Google Docs.
