Hi, I'm Matthew Clark. And this is Lesson 5.3: Product Design (Hardware), Part 3. In this lesson, we'll do a quick review of the product design process. We'll discuss prototyping and testing and move to pilot and then build and ship. Finally, we will conclude by talking about continuous improvement. So let's get started. So here we are in the product development process. In our previous lesson, we discussed Phase 1; concept, feasibility, and design. And now we're going to talk about Phase 2 and Phase 3. Phase 2 consists of the design phase, which you've already covered. That stage overlaps both Phases 1 and 2 and represents the fact that sometimes the work is iterative. And Phase 2 also has the prototype with the validation and adjustment and pilot stages with both manufacturing and assembly line validation.
