- The future belongs to the irreplaceable. Those who think and feel not those who process and memorize. Information retrieval and routine calculations are already handled by AI, yet our education systems keep preparing students for a race against machines that's already lost. Consider how schools have responded to ChatGPT by banning it, but bans didn't work with calculators in the eighties and they won't work now. These tools are here to stay, so we need to teach our kids how to live and work with them. If AI can pass complex exams like the lawyer bar exam, what value is there in teaching students to do the same thing less efficiently? We must transform both, what we teach and how we teach it. For example, we should teach our kids to critically evaluate AI generated content. In addition to changing what we teach, let's change how we teach.
