- [Narrator] Passing the CSSLP exam is only step one to becoming certified. You also need to demonstrate that you meet the experience requirements. ISC Squared requires CSSLP candidates to have a minimum of four years experience in a software development lifecycle role. So what exactly does it mean to work in an SDLC role? Fortunately, you can meet this requirement in a few different ways. ISC Squared wants some level of assurance that you've got experience with at least one of the eight CSSLP domains. That means you could be a developer, a QA tester, or an application penetration tester. You could be a project manager, a lead developer, or maybe a director of application development. If you can clearly articulate your role in the SDLC and how your work maps to the CSSLP domains, you'll have no problem meeting this requirement.
