- When you're deciding on learning and development programs, it's important to think about gaps. Are there specific gaps within an entire department or maybe just an individual team? In this lesson, I want to break down team, department and company needs so you can know your focus programs for individual teams often address issues like breakdowns and trust, communication, collaboration, guidance, or poor management. If the program needs are specific to an individual team, you can prioritize building and rolling out a program for that small group more quickly than for department or company-wide needs. To identify team dynamics issues, look at specific projects or team meetings as one employee dominating the conversation and hindering others from feeling welcome to share ideas. Are there difficulties in getting more time with the manager for guidance or approvals on customer escalations? Next, are programs needed by an entire department.
