- When you hear about robots, you probably often think of a physical robot. Could a robot enter data on a screen for users? And would that mean a physical robot, five feet tall maybe? Or is this an invisible robot? It might be weird to think about what robotic process automation is and how it works. Robotic process automation or RPA is meant to mimic the work humans do when interacting with a machine or system, but without the physical robot that we may picture from cartoons or movies, or maybe what we've seen today. For many legacy systems, RPA is a great option. It can take manual processes and speed them up dramatically without needing to spend as much time on expensive systems integrations. So for example, if you have a system where users enter data and that data needs to be sent to another system, a traditional IT solution might build a data interface between the two systems.
