Creating a simple title block for your AutoCAD drawings

We're starting another chapter now and we're going to take a quick look at how you communicate your design intent through an AutoCAD drawing. I have mentioned it in previous chapters in the course and what we're going to do is we're going to start with a whole new drawing called communication.dwg and you can download that from the library to follow along with the videos in this particular chapter. You'll recognize the drawing from previous chapters where we've worked on the same floor plan drawing but what we're going to start thinking about now is how we communicate our design using an actual physical sheet with a title block and so on so the first thing we're going to look at is creating a simple title block with a bit of text on it now what I'd like you to do is a quick bit of housekeeping first make sure your layer in the layer drop-down in the layers panel is set to title block like so you're in the model tab at the moment here like so and then if we jump to the annotation flyout…
