What is cybercrime?
- [Lecturer] In this lesson, we're going to explore the question, what is cyber crime? Now, before we dive too deeply into the concepts of digital forensics, it's important for us to understand when we might want to use digital forensics in the first place. Now, if you've ever watched "Law and Order," "NCIS" or "CSI," you're probably pretty familiar with a crime scene investigator. These are the people who will look over a crime scene for any evidence of the crime, and then take fingerprints, photos, and other samples that they can later analyze from that crime scene. Now, unlike their physical counterparts, though digital forensic examiners are focused on what they can't easily see. This includes things like digital artifacts of a cyber crime, and these cyber crimes can target computer and data network connectivity or could include things like viruses distribute denial-of-service attacks, ransomware, and many more…
