Demo part 1: Adding DataHub OPC UA to Ignition software
- Here is an example of connecting an OPC UA server to Ignition software. I'm going to use Cogent DataHub to act as an OPC UA server. Here's a sequence. I need to connect Cogent DataHub, OPC UA server to Ignition Gateway first. Then I can access it on the Ignition Designer. In this video, I will cover this step. If you want to visualize where this takes place in a SCADA system, it would be here. Now the demo in this video is how to add an OPC server to Ignition software. So for this, I'm going to use a simulation data that I can get from Cogent DataHub. So double click on DataSim here and then click on more. DataSim is a data simulation program that generates local data for the DataHub program. It is a great tool for testing. It generates data for four different wave patterns and sends these to DataHub immediately. So now I'm going to show you these data in Cogent DataHub. Double click on Cogent DataHub, then go…
