- [Scott] Now that we've seen how to create and modify virtual machines, I recommend that you take a little time to practice these skills. It can take a while to get into the practice of using virtual machines, and they can be a little bit clunky to use, especially on hosts that don't have a lot of resources. I've found using virtual machines in VirtualBox absolutely essential to my work. The potential that they unlock is a huge time saver, and with the VirtualBox's network manager allowing us to create different kinds of networks, VirtualBox is an excellent tool for building a home IT lab or for exploring fairly complex network setups. If you have your guests in the state you're happy with, consider making a snapshot or exporting an appliance so you can roll back if something happens.
