ESG measures and metrics

- Measuring the success of sustainability efforts requires metrics, a set of key performance indicators, or KPIs, that go beyond traditional financial metrics. You can collaborate with ESG experts and other stakeholders to define those KPIs that align with the specific goals and objectives of your organization. These KPIs cover a broad spectrum. Environmental impact metrics include carbon footprint production, energy consumption, water consumption, and waste output. Social metrics include diversity and inclusion measures, employee engagement, gender pay gap, and health and safety. The governance aspect is measured through indicators, such as ethical business practices and transparency, executive pay ratio, and taxes paid by an organization. Note that this is not an exhaustive list, but serves as an example of common ESG metrics. Your list of metrics and measures will align with your strategy as an organization.
