- [Instructor] Noise looks like pixel grain, and too much noise will make an image look grainy and soft. Let's click to zoom in on this image so that we can see the noise that's here. The amount of noise you find in a photo will depend a lot on the quality of the camera sensor and how much light was available during the capture. Underexposed images and images captured at a high ISO are especially susceptible to lots of noise. We can use noise reduction combined with some image sharpening to rescue a noisy photo. First let's look at the info for this photo so that you can see the camera data and the high ISO this was shot at. This icon in the lower right or the I on your keyboard, will take you to the Info panel. We can see this was captured with a Canon 7D at an ISO of 1,600, which is pretty high for that camera.
