- [Instructor] Before we get started on editing, I wanted to mention this HDR button. You may notice this in the top right corner of the editing panel. Support for HDR editing was added to Lightroom in the fall of 2023. HDR offers extra stops in the highlight end of the histogram. If I click on HDR, we'll see the histogram spread out and the extra stops are shown on the highlight end. You've probably seen some HDR images in your social media. They're the ones with the very bright highlights. Whites in an HDR image can be brighter than a standard dynamic range image. And the bright areas can also contain more details. In this image, the bright clouds, they just look blown out when I switched to HDR. To see the extra highlight range, I would need to be working on an HDR display. HDR editing is still evolving. Only a few file formats support it, and even though Lightroom supports HDR, many of your other applications don't. This course does not cover HDR editing. All of the editing…
