- [Host] In this course, you'll learn how to gather information about the Linux operating system and its files. You can continue to use the installation that we created in the foundation course in this series, "Linux Overview and Installation." If you have not taken that course yet, I recommend doing so before continuing with this one. In that course, we installed VirtualBox on both Windows and Linux hosts, created and optimized a virtual machine, installed Enterprise Linux, then installed VirtualBox Guest Additions and customized the Linux desktop to make our workflow faster and more efficient. If you have access to Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 8 or 9 that would be fine, but it is not necessary to complete this course. You can also use a clone of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, such as Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux OS or any other Enterprise Linux clone. When I refer to Enterprise Linux in this course, I mean any Red Hat…
